Ordering
How does it work?
Build the book on our site in about five minutes: add 1 to 3 photos, pick a style and a big moment, and add their name and details. No card needed. The same day, we email you a free private preview: the cover and 2 pages. Love it? Order right from the preview page. Then we finish every page and send it for one last look before it prints.
Do I have to pay before I see a preview?
No. The preview is free and you do not enter a card to get it. You pay only if you love it. If it is not for you, do nothing, and we delete your photos.
What ages are the books for?
Kids 2 to 8. The pages are short and made for reading out loud.
Do printed books come with a digital copy?
Yes. Every softcover and hardcover includes the free digital copy, delivered by email the same day, so you can read it together while the printed book ships. Digital on its own is $12.99.
Can I order more than one copy?
Yes. Add a second hardcover for Grandma for $34 when you order, and it ships in the same box. For more copies, email us.
Can I give a book as a gift without the kid's photo?
Yes. Choose Gift a book. Gifts are paid up front: you get a gift card with a code, and the parent adds the photos and details later and gets their own preview. The code never expires.
What is Animated + Read Aloud?
A $15 add-on. We turn their finished book into a short video where each page moves gently while a warm narrator reads the story, with captions on screen. It is great for grandparents far away.
Shipping and timing
How long does shipping take?
After you order and approve the finished book, it is printed in 2 to 5 business days and shipped in 3 to 4 more. Most families have it in about 5 to 9 business days. Every printed book ships with tracking, and shipping is $4.99, free on orders over $100.
When do I need to order for the holidays?
Order and approve by Nov 19 for the first night of Hanukkah (Dec 4, 2026), and by Dec 5 for Christmas. Ask for your free preview a few days before that so there is time to look. Digital books can be ordered until Dec 21 for Christmas. The Halloween Costume Book is digital, so order by Oct 28.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet. Right now we ship printed books to US addresses only. Digital books work anywhere.
Can I get it faster?
Previews are ready the same day, and every one is reviewed by a real person before we send it. Need it by a date? Request rush delivery (+$10). We confirm we can make your date before we charge for it.
Photos and privacy
What happens to their photo?
Their photo stays theirs. Private, never used to train AI, and deleted as soon as their character is drawn (never kept more than 3 days). We use the photo for one thing: drawing their character. Then we make the whole book from that drawing, not from the photo. We never use a child’s photo, name or book in our marketing, with no exceptions.
Who can see my preview?
Only people you share the private link with. It is not listed anywhere.
How are the illustrations made?
With our illustration process: digital art tools, including AI-assisted ones, turn your photos into a character in the style you pick, and a real person reviews every page for a true likeness before it reaches you. The story is written around their name, age and big moment.
If something is not right
What if it does not look like them?
Tell us on your free preview and we redraw it. You never pay for a book you have not seen.
Can I get a refund?
Because the preview is free and you pay only after you have seen it, refunds are for printing problems: a damaged book, a printing mistake or a lost package. In those cases we reprint it for free. See our Refund and Reprint Policy for the details.
My book arrived damaged or with a printing mistake.
Send us a photo within 30 days and we will reprint it for free. No need to send it back.
