These terms cover your use of the Next Big Moment website and any book you order from us. By using the site, uploading a photo or ordering, you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, email nextbigmoment@mail.tab.bot.
Who can use the site
Our site is for adults 18 and over. Our books are about children, but they are ordered by parents, guardians, grandparents and other grown-ups. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Uploading photos
- When you upload a photo, you confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or that you have their permission (for example, a grandparent with the parents’ OK), and that you have the right to upload it.
- You keep all rights to your photos. You give us a limited license to use them only to make your preview and your book, and nothing else.
- We delete the photo as described in our Privacy Policy: as soon as their character is drawn, and never more than 3 days after upload.
- We never use a child’s photo, name or book in our marketing, with no exceptions, and we never use photos to train AI.
- Please do not upload photos of anyone without permission, or anything unlawful or hurtful.
Your book and content
- You are responsible for the names, dedications, notes and other text you enter, and for checking spelling.
- We may refuse or change content that is offensive, hateful, unlawful, or that uses someone else’s name or likeness without permission. If we do, we will tell you and you can cancel at no cost.
- Our stories, illustrations, designs and website belong to Next Big Moment. Your finished book is for your family’s personal use: read it and share it with family and friends. Please do not resell it or reproduce it commercially.
- We use AI tools to help draw your book, and a person reviews every preview. Illustrations are artistic interpretations, so your child’s character will look like a storybook version of them, not a photo.
Previews and approval
- Previews are free. After you build a book and add a photo, we send a private preview (the cover and 2 pages) the same day. You do not pay unless you choose to order.
- When you order from your preview page, we finish the book and send it for a final look, with one free round of changes. Extra rounds may cost extra, and we will always ask first.
- Printing starts only after you approve the finished book. Once approved, we cannot change it.
- Because every book is made for one child, personalized books are final sale, except for our own printing or shipping errors, which we fix for free. See our Refund and Reprint Policy.
Your order
- Prices are in US dollars. Printed books ship in the US for $4.99, free on orders over $100, unless stated otherwise.
- Gift cards are paid up front. They can be used for one book of the type purchased and do not expire. They cannot be exchanged for cash, except where the law requires.
- Delivery dates, including holiday order-by dates, are our best estimates. Printers and carriers can have delays we do not control.
Rush requests
Need it by a date? You can request rush delivery (+$10). A rush request is not guaranteed until we confirm it. We check whether we can make your date and email you before we charge for it. If we cannot make it, you are not charged the $10.
Limitation of liability
We work hard to get every book right. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection laws.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
